The Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America has a number of programs and materials for health care providers and people involved in health education. Some of those programs are listed here. Please also see our national website at www.aafa.org  for more information on programs and educational materials.

AAFA's "Asthma Management And Education © program "for Allied Health Professionals is offered at sites around the country, using a faculty of experienced nurses who have received special training to teach this continuing education course. The program offers 2.4 contact hours for nurses and 2 CRCE credits for respiratory therapists. Watch our calendar for our next New England program. 

Power Breathing Program© This is the only asthma education program specifically designed for and pre-tested with teens. A multi-session program with video and board game that includes hands-on instruction, discussion and strategic thinking. Available for presentation in schools and other teen settings. Training is required.

Preventing Life-Threatening Food Allergy Emergencies in Schools: A Resource Packet for School Nurses and Administrators.   Useful four page checklist available free from AAFA/New England Chapter or you may print out the form from this link:  Anaphylaxis:  A Resource for School Nurses and Administrator.   • Four different versions of Meeting-in-a-Box (plus one in Spanish), which each have slides, scripts and hand-outs for presentations to patients, their families and their schools.
  • You Can Control Asthma workbooks for kids and families (in English and Spanish)
  • Asthma and Allergy Answers: A Patient Education Library. These 42 information sheets can be downloaded individually from our national website, or ordered in a notebook of articles to reproduce on your copy machine.
  • Asthma Care Training for Kids (ACT) - a 3-4 session program for children age 6 - 12 and their parents - complete with leaders guides, workbooks and activity materials. Training required.
